When you're touched out
Listen
0:34Wanting space doesn't mean you love them any less. It means you've been needed, again and again, with hardly a gap in between.
You're allowed to want a minute that belongs only to you. You're allowed to say "just a minute" and mean it. That isn't selfish. It's how you keep going.
This feeling is a signal, not a failure. It's telling you something true about how much you've been giving. You can listen to it, and still be exactly the mom they need.
Is it normal to feel touched out as a mom?
Yes. Feeling touched out is common and it doesn't mean you love anyone less. It means you've been needed a lot. Wanting a little space is a signal worth listening to, not a failure.
